Welcome to the Amiga Angels database. This version is a simple text file, so
you can load it into any word processor or text editor and use that program
search facility to look for town names, or topics with which you need help. Of
course it is early days at the moment so you might be better off looking
through the list manually.
When sending in your details, it would be best (for me, at least) if you could
follow the given pattern. Also, I'm not too keen on printing people's addresses
and giving away just how much equipment you own in case unscrupulous crims are
reading this list, so phone numbers or email addresses would be better. If you
don't want the phone ringing at all hours of day and night, then make sure you
put times at which you would be happy to receive calls from desperate Amiga
owners. If the details given here aren't correct, or could do with updating
(a particular favourite would be to give the area you live in if you are only
providing email or phone details) then please send email to
ben.vost@futurenet.co.uk with the subject Amiga Angels.
Last, but definitely not least, thank you all for volunteering your services.

Notes:
If sending email, make sure you include details for your machine in your
problem description, or simply use the website form.
"The AmigaSoc helpdesk uses the combined knowledge of all the members of
QMW AmigaSoc and AmigaSoc UK, primarily through their mailing list of
Amiga experts. We aim to help Amiga people get around any problems they
may have, however trivial. AmigaSoc UK would like to put something back
into the Amiga community, and so we are pleased to say that we charge
nothing for this service."

Notes: I've written a few command line programs to rescale IFF
pictures/brushes for NewIcons, AmigaStart pictures, and suchlike.
Working, but slow. Planning to collate the lot into one command which
can do the work of all.
I could write a 2D game no trouble, but I haven't had any worthwhile
ideas that wouldn't take years so far. You know how it is.
Time to write a reader game or two, methinks. I seek partners in this
who can produce graphics, samples, or ideas... Mine tend to be ripped
off.

queries/problems, diagnostics (strong), tower-case stuff, PC/Mac
knowledge, any HTML queries. Good knowledge of software problems, DOpus
queries, YAM 2 help :), and other software.
Notes: I'm a co-editor/administrator of Pure Amiga
(http://www.pureamiga.co.uk), same as Chris Appleton, and so I can
answer any HTML queries you have. I've got Amiga Format issues
43->current for reference, as well as loads of stuff on my hard disk. I
write reviews for Pure Amiga most of the time, so I've got total access
to a very large database of reviews. I'll be at WOA 98, with the rest
of the Pure Amiga team, so you can find me there if you want, by
looking out for the white t-shirts that we'll be wearing.

Expertise in:
AmigaOS Workbench usage and customizing
Script writing and general shell usage
Internet setup, and I'll have a good go at AmiTCP probs...
General internet usage - can speak fluent techie
AMOS Programming - my forté
AmigaGuide writing - I'm VERY good at that
Web Page designing - but not viewing as I don't have a working browser!
Installer script writing
Games (good all-rounder but hardly ever completes)
A little-known language called AMUL (by Oliver Smith)
How to put down PCs
Searching the Aminet (refined search script - can locate files on the
Aminet in about 25 seconds depending on length of search string!)
Most things PC (well, they're second best and all my school has!)
Notes: At the moment, I'm looking for Amiga contacts. I'm 13 - or 14 by the
time you read this, and have had an Amiga since I was 4.
I get my emails most weekends and reply almost straight away. You may
have to wait a week for a reply, or two at a push, but normally it'll
be on your desk on Monday morning!
I'm never happy - I'll spend weeks on a program then go onto something
else and give up on the old one, then maybe come back 5 years later and
create 7-Pin Bowling or something like that...
